Ken-Tsai Lee is an associate professor at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, as well as the Visual Director for Taiwan Designers’ Week and serves as the regional representative of the New York Art Directors Club and New York Type Directors Club.
As a designer, he was named as one of the 100 contemporary designers in the world by Japanese design master Shigeo Fukuda through the design book AREA, published by Phaidon. As an artist, he was a representative of Taiwan to participate in a traveling exhibition titled “Conforming to Vicinity – A Cross-Strait Four-Region Artistic Exchange Project 2014.”
As an educator, he leads “ken-tsai lee design lab” in Taiwan Tech with his graduate students. He has brought the Type Directors Club’s annual exhibition “Young Guns” to Taiwan, as well as curating the Chinese Typography Design Biennial by gathering works of Chinese typography from all over the world. His work has been recognised by the Taiwan National Design Award, and numerous others from leading design organisations and publications worldwirde, including Design for Asia Awards, D&AD, New York Type Directors Club, New York One Show, Tokyo Type Directors Club, Hong Kong Designers Association, Red Dot Design Award, Communication Arts, and Graphis.
