The multicultural CONfusion choir is made up of refugees and locals who sing a popular repertoire of differing musical traditions once a week. The choir performs as often as possible in the different communities in our locality. The main objective of this project is to facilitate the social inclusion of refugees. Through popular songs of different musical traditions people (singers and audience) discover universal themes: love, death, homesickness, hope…human destiny. And understand that we are all humans. The music allows the singers to connect and deeply communicate without words with each other as well as with the audience. A choir is a team: singing together requires commitment and cooperation to create a new work of art.
The project seeks to facilitate relationship, coexistence and social cohesion, and to ensure that diversity is seen as a source of social and cultural vitality.
